Sin City Hair Japanese Thermal Reconditioning/Straightening Aftercare sheet

Please follow these aftercare instructions to the letter and without deviation.  Failure to do so may result in
damage to your hair or shortened Yuko brand Japanese thermal hair straightening and re-conditioning
lifespan.

The first 48 hours following your service are especially crucial to ensure effectiveness.

Do not
wash your hair for 48 hours from the time of the completion of the service.

Use the only recommended products.  Sin City Hair will not guarantee your service unless our specific
products are used.

Please do not allow any chemical services (color, etc..) to be performed 2 weeks prior or two weeks after your
thermal reconditioning/straightening service.  Do NOT use a curling iron, hot rollers, etc.. for two weeks after
any color service (even if your hair has been straightened for a long time).

Your hair must be thoroughly blown dry every time it becomes wet.  Failure to do so will result in your hair
texture “reverting” back to its natural state.

We strongly recommend that after blow-drying, you flat iron your hair.  Please do not exceed a temperature
setting of 350 degrees on your flat iron.  Take small sections of hair and move the flat iron slowly.  AVOID
BENDING THE HAIR IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM!

For the first two weeks, sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase to eliminate friction.

Do not braid your hair.  Loose, low pony tails are ok.  Do not use hair ties with any metal.

Use a boar brush with natural bristles only.

Special products may need to be used if you wish to color your hair following a thermal
reconditiong/straightening service.  Sin City Hair keeps records of all products used in providing your service.
YOU OR YOUR STYLIST (Preferably your stylist) should call us prior to any chemical service so that we may
guide them as to what products or strengths of developer to avoid.  Failure to do this may result in damage to
your hair.

Shampoo your hair every 2, preferably 3 days.  If needed, a dry shampoo may be used in-between traditional
shampooing.
Shampooing
Correct shampooing is about washing the scalp. The first step is to wet your hair thoroughly with warm water.
Take the time to soak the scalp too. Most of the dust and grime attached to the surface of your hair will be
removed in this step. Do not use water that is too hot; this dries your scalp, strips away the natural oil and
cause the hair cuticle to peel off.

Apply shampoo not on the hair but on the scalp, starting from the nape, next along the hairline, and then
spreading it over the entire scalp. Gently massage the scalp while moving your fingers to create lather. There
is no need to lather excessively as this ‘chokes’ the hair cuticles which are already relaxed in warm water.
Massaging frees your hair follicles of clogging deposits and fosters healthy hair growth. Never, never use your
fingernails!

Rinsing
Continue to massage the scalp gently with your fingertips as you rinse. Don't flush out the shampoo by
applying strong water pressure. Instead, cup your hands to hold water around your hair and remove the
shampoo residue.
Conditioning
While the shampoo is for your scalp, the conditioner is for your hair shaft and ends. The hair conditioner is like
a skin lotion – it moisturizes the hair, closes the cuticles and changes the hair's pH value to a weak acidity.
Applying a lot of conditioner will not improve the hair – only use enough conditioner so that it adheres to the
hair surface. Work the conditioner through the hair and rinse.

Deep Conditioning Treatment
A deep-conditioning treatment is applied to replenish damaged hair with lost protein. Hair-care professionals
may recommend treating your hair with an intensive conditioner once every 3 to 5 shampoos. If you have
medium to long hair, however, we recommend applying intensive treatment each time you shampoo.

Towel-drying and Blow-drying
After shampooing, dry your hair with a towel to absorb the moisture. Never ‘wipe,’ or rub your hair with force.
The water attached to the hair will travel down naturally after a while, and gently pressing a towel to the hair will
remove moisture effectively.

Some people let their hair air-dry, but this "natural" approach is not recommended (wet hair is fragile hair).
After absorbing moisture with a towel, spray Repair Through over your hair. Start blow-drying from the nape
area, leaving the front of the head last and work from the ends to the roots for volume enhancement. When the
scalp is completely dry and the hair is 80-percent dry, style your hair into the desired look.
